8pm Friday 18th January 2019
Adrian Cox again visited us and presented a concert celebrating the music of Louisiana born clarinettist Edmond Hall. It was based on the 1941 hit album which featured Edmond Hall along with Meade Lux Lewis and Charlie Christian. Adrian lead the quartet with this as a starting point and continued through a programme of lesser known tunes from the albums “ Rumpus on Rampart” and “Petit Fleur”.
Doors opened at 7.30pm. Pay at the door £10.
Everyone said it was a fantastic success and Adrian has promised to come back next year.

A surprise concert was conjured up here at the Watchtower. A glamorous selection of musicians and sounds were ready to entertain us all for a very good cause.
Talented local violinist Ross Hume graduated from York University last year and has now been accepted by the Royal Northern College of Music, despite stiff competition, for a two year postgraduate course. The sting in the tail is the need for £20,000 to pay the fees . . .
His friends and admirers, all talented themselves, gathered together to entertain us with a splendid array of music and singing. There was no entry charge but a collection at the interval hopefully started a large ball rolling to help with the matter!
We celebrated this mid-June treat before the world started turning towards autumn.
From Bach to Holst and Mozart to Bruch, this Friday evening delighted us all.
